Layer: A _ Text Elements

July 24, 2008 by kendra-j

Layer A _ Text Elements is a combination of A-Anno-Notes, A-Anno-Symb, A-Anno-Keynotes, and A-Anno-Text.

The reason for this:
Archicad layers are not associated with line type and pen weight as in Autocad. They merely exist to turn on/off layers in the view map. There is no instance(that I can think of) where these items would need to be toggled on/off seperately.

thanks

General Sheets - new standard numbering

July 24, 2008 by kendra-j

The General Sheets are no longer indicated with a 'G'.
NCS says that any drawing produced from the Architect should be indicated with an 'A'. Therefore, our drawing sets will begin with:

A 001 (cover)
A 002 (Gen Notes + Abbrev.)
A 003 (Access. guidelines)
and so on...

This change in numbering does not affect the standard for the rest of the drawings. Site information is still 100; Plans are still 200; ect...

This is benefitial when listing drawings. The general sheets will show up at the beginning when listed alphabetically.

Thank you and goodbye

I have added a 30x42 (an industry standard)to the template. If it doesn't provide you with adequate sheet space... let me know

Zones - 3d

July 17, 2008 by kendra-j

Zones are standard for labeling room names + numbers. The zone tool can be used in more situations than just 2d. For the SD phase of a project, use the zone tool for massing:
Create a zone in plan; enter height in the zone properties.
To view in 3d:
Select View > Elements in 3d view > Filter elements in 3d >
check the zone tool

presto - view in 3d
