Textures / GDL parts

July 22, 2008 by zach-s

I found a site with textures for corrugated metal siding and roofing,

here .

They also have some GDL parts in their

3D Dormer Vent Library ;

3D Rainhead Library; and

3D Gable Vents Library.

You have to be a member to download the GDL parts, but its free and simple to join. Note that the GSM files are the GDL parts for ArchiCAD. Don’t ask me, I didn’t come up with it. If my links don’t work go to http://www.steelselect.com/index.php and navigate on your own.

New Master Sheet

Although in your infinite wisdom Kendra you did create almost all the sizes we could possibly need, we would still like to have the wonderful size of 42x36 (that’s inches btw)

New layers

July 22, 2008 by zach-s

There will surely be more to add, but for now we wantto add layers:
 A_FOUNDATION; A_WALL FRAMING; A_ROOF FRAMING.

There is already a slab layer, but this is different than foundation (on many buildings) and there is A_WALL STUDS, but the framing oine is more general, and would cover other structural members in the wall that were not studs. the same thing applies to the roof framing.

Any more suggestions are welcome.

Content

you can join and post if you want.
I'm interested rite now in setting up some info so its not completely blank, and/or new categories or starting some threads in existing categories ect. Maybe we need a tips category? maybe we don't have enough content yet to break it into 30 category's, ect. Things i know i want on here are : The manual, the tutorials, install/ update info, (some or all of this may be covered in the manual) Since most of our files we will use as a company will be on the server, a lot of the stuff on here will just be linked to the server. I really like the format found at "onland"  ok. Enjoy

NEW ARCHICAD FORUM

July 15, 2008 by zach-s

Many of us are already using ArchiCAD, some of us are still learning. This forum will hopefully serve as place for all of us to talk, ask questions, give answers and generally discuss ArchiCAD.
